It is with great joy that I can report that your hard work during the month of December has been successful! We have caught a great number of Sinister snowmen who have all admitted to being part of the Sinister Order of Snowmen - some took a bit more convincing than others; one only doing so when presented with the lost carrot that was found earlier this month and was promised he could have it back (There was an obvious carrot-shaped hole where normally a snowman's nose would have been) if he admitted to having been the one to lose it in the first place. At this point he confessed and the nose was returned to its rightful owner. They're now being kept in a freezer standing in a very warm room to both keep them comfortable and prevent any escape attempts.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped in getting to this point and followed up on leads by solving puzzles and helped us spread the word about how a real snowman would look and put up wanted posters of the Sinister type.
You have been a great help and we couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you:

SOS - Sinister Order of Snowmen

In recent years a string of sinister events have been taking place each year around this time and it is now clear that a secretive society of snowmen is behind it. To combat this secret society we are now asking the help of all of HOL to stop them before they go into hiding again, waiting out the warmer months before rearing their snowy heads and carrot noses again once temperatures drop low enough.

Luckily we have found some clues which we hope will help catch the snowmen – one of the chief pieces of evidence as of the moment is the tip of a carrot and a small puddle of water next to it, probably left by a snowman who got a bit too close to one of the fireplaces and in his haste to escape, broke off a piece of his nose. We therefore urge everyone to be very alert to any snowmen they encounter with pieces of their noses missing. For of course not all snowmen in the world are part of this secret society, believed to be called the Sinister Order of Snowmen.

There are also other clues of course, but these have yet to be identified. This is where we want your help! For each puzzle you are able to solve, and each task you complete, we will gain new information about the Sinister Order of Snowmen and their aborrent actions.
As a show of gratitude for the help in these matters, we will be offering a reward in the form of beans – and for any Ravenclaw students who participate, there will also be a reward of House Activity Points.
Each task is worth five beans, but must be turned in before the new year to count. After this it is believed that the Sinister Order of Snowmen will have already managed their plot and it will be too late to catch them before next winter.
