Hey there Eagles and Eaglettes,
For those of you who haven't tripped over the University of Michgan/Starkid production of A Very Potter Musical. It's all the rage on the internet. It's a parody/farce/comedy 2-act musical based on books (2),4,6,7. I don't think I've enjoyed anything so much in years.

Pop up a big bowl of popcorn and break out the butter beer. Best December/Winter Solstice festivities present you could ever give yourself.

Hello! This is WAY laaaate, I've been distracted, to say the least. *G* Well the Eagles surely have seen me in this area before, I sneaked into the Ravenclaw common room every now and then, especially back then when our dungeons got locked up or messed up or broke. Anyway, my name is Faye Roderick, im a lazy-to-the-bone 5th year, and I'm a ssssssnake! I love snacks, and I also LOVE YOU ALEXIA RIAPER [pretend there's lots of spammy hearts here]. There. I've said it. HA.

And I should just add that Fayeyay is an awesome assistant who made me these pretty and SHINY awards for one of my classes.

And lol I haven't watched A Very Potter Musical, but if you lot say it's worth watching, then I should definitely give it a go. I'll put it on my to-do list right away. *g*

I always like a polite welcome. From now on I should visit you Eagles more often, you all seem like such wonderful people.

Why hello there dear ravenclaws! My first duty hear is to express my utter confusion, why are ravenclaw students "eagles" when the name oh so boldy suggests a raven perhaps, maybe wit isn't what you should be known for hahaha. Secondly I would like to express sincere remorse for not being deemed cool and awesome enough by the sorting hat to be put in to my dear house of Hufflepuff, I suppose we just all can't be winners. Anyway, my name is Maquelly John I am a first year hufflepuff student. I love dance and live for it (as people in hufflepuff are soon discovering!). If you are ever up for a chat send me a HOL message, I greatly appreciate these (as I rarely recieve any :'( it must be because my awesomeness imtimidates people!) looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Well, ravens are sort of depressing, aren't they? In many cultures, including our own, Ravens are thought to be symbols/harbingers or death. Not exactly the best mascot for a house, I'd say. Eagles, on the other hand, are majestic and clever.

What kind of dance do you do, Maquelly?

Actually, to waffle on about the Eagle as the symbol of Ravenclaw.

The raven was a mistake on the Hogwarts Crest in the U.S.A, Scholastic editions of HP. Each house has a symbol that is remotely but not really related to the names of each founder:
Goderic Gryffindor has a Lion and not a Gryffin or a Dormouse.
Helga Hufflepuff has a Badger instead of a Heffalump or a Puffskein.
I think Salazar Slytherin is the only one that has a symbol that remotely reflects his name: Slithering Snake.

I suppose Rowena Ravenclaw could have been called Emily Eagleton and then the eagle symbology would have been obvious but Emily Eagleton sounds just plain awful and not very medieval at all.
