Creative Tasks
One member of each team will invent a potion prank recipe. Potions are awesome, aren’t they? Especially when they involve a prank :D

The other member will need to invent a candy prank recipe, just as entertaining to watch.

For these creative tasks, you may do it any way you like. A couple examples are through art or writing. Then showcase the pranks to us along with the recipes you used.

Please post the creative tasks below.
Remember, creativity is key.

Puzzle Tasks
One member of each team will be responsible for completing this Nonogram puzzle:

For number 3 down, there is a spelling error (Vanessa here apologizing for another spelling error that Tarma can tell you I make a lot of lol). The second e (the 13th letter) is the letter missing from the clue so omit that e and continue to spell the correct charm. Sorry again everyone!!!

The more correct answers you find in the crossword, the more Galleons you will receive.

These tasks will be due on April 21 at 11:59 pm HOL time. You may send in the tasks after that time, but there will be a 3 galleon penalty.
Please send solutions to hol.prankwars@gmail.com

Don't forget to have fun. :)

Eruditus Profundus

What would be a good prank, worthy of my heroes, Fred and George?

Of course, one would be a love potion - but they have that already. What about ... what about a potion which caused folks to babble-on. A babbling beverage! Something like what Professor Snape told Harry Potter -- that if he wanted nonsense spouted at him, he'd give Harry a babbling beverage. Except this would be with a twist. The Babbling Beverage causes a person to speak nonsense. This one would cause a person to speak as eruditely as possible, seeking the most learned tomes of knowledge that the 'victim' has read and they start to recite it, on and on and on.

That doesn't seem like much fun, does it. But consider 'when' it would be given the victim. Ah, there's the rub!

There would be all kinds of possible and appropriate moments when a person wants to be still and quiet, as mysterious as possible, and not attract lots of attention. THAT is when you slip them Eruditus Profundus.

Ingredients:
water - 1 gallon
billywig stings - dried, 6
armadillo bile - 4 ounces
bicorn horn - 2 ounces powdered
fluxweed - 7 ounces, dried and crumpled
shrivelfig - 3 dried and powdered
nightshade - 3 dried flowers
doxy venom - 2 drops
unicorn hair - chopped fine, one 10 inch strand
firewhiskey - 8 ounces

Directions:
Combine all plant materials in a large pewter bowl - this would be the fluxweed, shrivelfig, nightshade - and grind them with a granite pestle until when you toss the ingredients into the air, they float a bit and then settle back down into the bowl. Set aside.
Combine all animal ingredients in a large copper bowl - this would be billywig, armadillo, bicorn, doxy and unicorn. Using a mahogany spoon, stir and mix using a clockwise motion. Don't worry about bits jumping out, seemingly coming alive and bouncing all over. Just catch them and put them back in the bowl. They should settle down by the 20th clockwise stir. Set aside.
Have a sip or two of firewhiskey.
Put the water into a glass pan and put over a low heat until it is steaming. Do not allow the water to boil. Stir the water in a figure-8 motion. Do not splash it, but just cause the water to be swirling.
Continue stirring with one hand and pour one half of the plant materials into the water as your stir. Stir for two minutes. Pour in the other half of the plant materials and stir for another two minutes.
Let everything sit for 5 minutes, while on the low heat. Let it steam.
Have another sip or two of firewhiskey.
Now comes the dangerous part.
Start to stir counterclockwise, and every 3rd stir, you put in a handful of the animal materials. You are probably safe for the first couple of handfuls, but after that, DO NOT BREATH IN THE FUMES. (You might want to use a bubble-head charm.) Prolonged exposure to the fumes, while they are in the works, can cause you to suffer a temporal shift into reality and cause you to speak only what is true for the rest of your life.
Once you have put in all the handfuls of animal material, stir in the figure-8 again for 3 minutes PRECISELY.
Remove the spoon immediately.
Once you have removed the spoon, the vapours are safe to breath in.
(JUST KIDDING. You are doomed.)
Have another sip of firewhiskey.
Allow the mix to steam for 20-30 minutes. You will know when it is ready when, of a sudden, it appears that all the ingredients have vanished and the liquid has turned a clear lilac shade.
Remove it from the fire (or simply put the fire out).
Let this stand for 2 days. It will turn into a thick syrup. Decant into glass bottles which have glass stoppers. One tablespoon does the job! It is tasteless and the colourless when combined with another fluid.
The effects last for two hours. Enjoy!

Maple Surprise Candies
This candy is sure to be a hit, especially after the surprise kicks in!

Ingredients
1¼ C Maple Syrup
8 Chizpurfle fangs* (crushed)
Non-stick spray
candy molds

Instructions
1. Put the maple syrup and Chizpurfle fangs in a pot and heat to 300 degrees F, stirring every so often.
2. While the syrup is heating, spray your candy molds with non-stick spray.
3. Once the syrup hits 300 degrees, quickly pour it into a glass measuring cup (or other heat safe pouring vessel as it will make less of a mess than pouring directly from the pot) and pour the molten syrup into the molds.
4. Let the candy cool completely and then pop the candies out of the molds.

Now for the surprise! While the maple syrup & fangs are heating up, add 1 to 2 tsp of Tabasco Sauce! This spicy sauce gives it a kick and actually pairs really nicely with the sweetness of the syrup and fangs. Unsuspecting people will be in for a shock but after the first one they'll definitely want another!!

*Muggle versions of this recipe only include maple syrup. Chizpurfle fangs are used in the Wiggenweld Potion, a healing potion with the power to awaken a person from a magically-induced sleep, so they add to the sweetness.

Yuck-Yuck Sweet

Ingredients:
1 small candy of your choice (either magical or Muggle)
10 grams Boggart skin
10 grams wormwood
1 crushed wolfsbane flower

Recipe:
1) Using Alohomora, open a small hole in the candy.
2) Add the Boggart skin, wormwood, and the wolfsbane into the candy.
3) Close the hole in the candy using Colloportus.
4) Wave your wand in a circular pattern three times over the sweet.

The resulting sweet will look exactly like a standard Muggle or magical sweet, but will be charmed to taste exactly like the food that the eater finds most disgusting at the time. Is the person not a big fan of organ meats? The sweet will taste exactly like liver. Are canned vegetables not their thing? It will taste like the yuckiest canned green beans instead! And so on it goes...

Shocking Solution

The potion is one of the most famous concoctions devised as a prank to date, having its origins back in 1900s. The Shocking Solution is colorless, odorless and has no taste, so the drinker definitely has no idea someone put it in their drink unless they see them.

When the drinker consumes it, it lasts for a day and it makes the receiver get static shocks whenever they touch something. Now, that can become too annoying, to the number and place of static shocks is completely random, but around from 5-10 an hour. Not too much, so you will not get discovered and not too little so it would not qualify as a prank.

Ingredients
  • 12 glow worms
  • 10 pairs of firefly eyes
  • 3 tails of electric eels
  • 1 bark from a lightning struck oak

Procedure
    1. Fill your cauldron with water and heat it up so it boils.
    2. Put in the glow worms and stir it five times counterclockwise, so it turns a dark red color.
    3. Put in one tail of electric eels and stir until sparks star to fly.
    4. Put in firefly eyes and stir it tow times clockwise and three times counterclockwise so it turns light pink.
    5. Put in one tail of electric eels and stir until sparks star to fly.
    6. Use pestle and mortar and turn the bark into a coarse powder.
    7. Put eleven pinches of the powder in the potion, then put the last eel tail in and let the potion simmer until it turns clear.

The Glow Potion

Have you ever wanted to prank your friends by pretending to be a ball of light? Yeah, me neither. But that's what this potion is meant to do. With only a few drops, your entire body will begin to glow so bright that your friends will have to look away to not be blinded by your awesomeness.

The ingredients to the potions are as thus:
Powdered moonstone
Rose Oil
Fairy Wings
Exploding Ginger Eyelashes
Morning Dew

First thing to note is that this potion must be made in the moonlight contrary to popular belief that it must be made in the sun. That is to say, you must bring your cauldron outside to brew this concoction.

Start with morning dew and then combine it with the rose oil. You know the amount is right when the potion has turned pink.
Stir 3 times clockwise then 4 times counter clockwise.
Put over a flame for 30 seconds and let it heat.
Next add 2 exploding ginger eyelashes, but stand back because the potion will begin to bubble and turn fiery orange.
Once the bubbling has completed, add in 4 fairy wings. The potion will now turn to a midnight purple.
Stir 7 times counter clock wise then 2 times clockwise.
Finally add powdered moonstone until the potion turns a periwinkle blue.
Stir 3 more times counter clockwise and heat for 15 seconds over a flame.
When you are finished, the potion should be neon green.

“MIDA’S DELIGHT”

“Mida´s Deliight” is the brand new chocolate developed by Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. It is a prank chocolate that fortunately it is also delicious and royal! It is sold in a package that contains 8 pieces of crown-shaped chocolates.
Whenever you eat a “Mida’s Delight” chocolate you will become King Midas for 15 minutes! And you will be able to turn any inanimate object into gold! You can of course prank your friends by gifting them one of your golden objects that will eventually turn back to normal after an hour.

The recipe to produce this amazing chocolate is the following:

INGREDIENTS:
* A sprinkle of leprechaun’s gold.
* 350 grams of chocolate
* 1 liter of milk
* 100 grams of butter
* 2 drops of vanilla flavoring
* 1 golden vela hair
* 5 petals of marigolds

PROCEDURE:
1. Mix all the golden/yellow ingredients into a bowl by adding the 100 grams of butter, the vela hair and the five marigold petals. Finish by adding the 2 drops of vanilla flavoring,
2. Add the liter of milk into the yellow mixture and mix some more.
3. Add the 350 grams of chocolate and put your mixture right under the sunshine between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. and wait until the chocolate melts.
4. Mix everything.
5. Gradually, add to your final mixture then sprinkles of leprechaun gold and say the following incantation: Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, chocolate crown, golden-yellow.
6. Now your chocolate mixture is ready! Just place into your crown-shaped molds and do a freezing charm to integrate everything
7. Package and enjoy the pranking fun!
