The life giving sun is a powerful thing, and an obvious delight to the Heat Miser who thinks it just can’t get hot enough! It symbolizes everything he loves, and he loves anything that represents or symbolizes it in return.
“Its core is about 27 million degrees Fahrenheit, 15 million degrees Celsius!” You overheard him proudly telling one of the more fascinated students back at the castle.
It’s no surprise when you and the other participants find yourselves outside a building where muggles make one of their newspapers, The Sun.
“A little on the nose, don’t you think?” A giggling Snow Miser says, and you turn to see him tap a finger against the side of his elegant nose. Many members of the blue team erupt in chillingly over dramatized laughter while the bronze team hiss-crackle-and-roar back playfully in return.
The rage seen in his brother’s eyes at this point leads you to believe it must be a sensitive subject for the Heat Miser, who seems understandably a bit put-off at having what appears more like a large tomato rather than a nose.
But he shakes it off, grumbling, then hollers out that anyone looking to collect beans is gonna have to find a way to make it into the non-magical tabloids.
“Shine bright enough to let them see you, or your work,” he barks, “but if you use magic: don’t get caught!”
Task:
Think you’ll make the front page? Create a Signature & Avatar! What might have gotten you a splashy headline in the paper, and what might that sensational title be? Include the title along with any theme(s) you come up with in your imagery. Size for Avatars is 100x100px, Signatures are 250x100px.
Alternatively, expand on your headline by writing a News Article using 100 words or more from the perspective of a muggle reporter covering the story of what you chose.
You may wish to make your themes more serious, though they can also be as silly or comedic as you like, and you’re welcome to incorporate whichever team you’re on into what you come up with. That is to say, these do not specifically have to revolve around the actual sun, though you may choose to do something similarly heat related if you’re a member of the bronze team, or play around with colder concepts as a member of team blue.
This task is worth 10 beans with an additional 10 bonus beans for completing all Week One tasks by end of activity. Deadline is 11:59pm (HOL time) on Monday November 28th.
