I don't know if there is a question like tgis but,
why do we only allow five classes per term?

Because, realistically, you can't take a dozen classes and pass them all, and if they don't put a limit to it, some people might try it  Of course, some of us probably could handle six or even seven, but I think the limit was made for the benefit of both students and professors alike.

Also, I think in part It is to keep things fair around HOL. They put a max number of classes one can take, plus a maximum on how many points can be earned a month in those classes, in order to insure that every house has a similar advantage for the house cup.

And a reason could possibly even be that many classes are repeated for years and if everyone were to take all the classes that interested them on the very first term or two there might not be any classes that interested them once they were older in HOL.
