Apples and Ladybugs

Postby Prof. Kendra Givens » Sat Apr 10, 2021 4:27 pm

In all this excitement about the picnic, we forgot about the bugs! It seems that the ladybugs have decided they’d like to join us, because there are certainly a lot of them flying around! Luckily, you’ve packed a bit too much for you and your friends to eat. Ladybugs do enjoy eating sugary fruits, so you decide to leave some apples off to the side away from your picnic area to keep them distracted.

Complete this Ladybugs and Apples puzzle to keep the ladybugs away from your food. I've included a few ladybugs to get you started on your solution.

Instructions for Ladybugs and Apples (Tents and Trees puzzle)
- Each ladybug is attached to one apple (so there are as many ladybugs as there are apples).
- The numbers across the top and down the side tell you how many ladybugs are in the respective row or column.
- A ladybug can only be found horizontally or vertically adjacent to an apple.
- Ladybugs are never adjacent to each other, neither vertically, horizontally, nor diagonally.
- A ladybug might be next to two apples, but is only connected to one.
