Week 3 - Create Your Own Calendar

The Mayans made extremely accurate calendars and were able to predict astronomical occurrences. Their year consisted of 19 months and was represented as a circle parted into 19 sections with an image in each one to represent that month. This will of obviously not work for us in current times since we have 12 months in a year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a similar calendar for ourselves. Use this template to fill the wedges with images, drawing, or even text to make a calendar that will work for us in today's society. If you’d feel more comfortable describing your calendar in words than drawing it, please make it 150 words minimum.

I'm overly mildly obsessed with comic books and their films, so my calendar is for the upcoming comic book films starting in December. It might not be super useful to other people, but it's super useful for me. *nod*

My calendar would be made according to my synaesthesia colour associations for each month. It would look something like this:
January: Ice blue with a faint pattern of bare branches
February: Deeper blue with a faint pattern of raindrops
March: Warm red with a faint pattern of slanting sun rays
April: Pale bluish Lilac with a faint pattern of swirls, something like wind tossed cloud
May: Warm pink with a faint pattern of flowers
June: Royal blue with a faint pattern of waves
July: lemon yellow with a faint pattern of sunbursts
August: Bright orange with a faint pattern of fruit
September: Dark blue with a faint pattern of clouds
October: Darker orange with a faint pattern of leaves
November: Pale grey (touches of pink) with a faint pattern of fireworks
December: Pale grey-blue with a faint pattern of snowflakes
Separating the segments and going around the edge of the whole calendar, there are strings of words that relate to the seasons and the months. They are in tiny font and written in white.

Mine would have a holiday for each of the months.

January- New Years (I'd use a disco ball, because that is what drops down to begin the new year in America.)
February- Valentine (For this one I'd use a Valentine heart, because that is what you send to those you love.)
March- Saint Patrick Day (I'd use a four leaf clover, because that is what brings luck or so people think.)
April- April Fools Day (I'd use a jester hat, because that is what the King of Fools wears on this day as a crown.)
May- May Pole (For May Day)
June- Sun (Because I don't know what holiday is this month and its summertime.)
July- American Flag- (To represent Independence Day.)
August- Dog (I mean it is the dog days of summer. LOL)
September- Back To School (I'd use a picture of an apple, because that is what kids use to give their teachers traditional on this day.)
October- Halloween (For October I'd use a pumpkin or a scarecrow, because they both symbolize this day.)
November- Thanksgiving (I'd use a picture of a cooked turkey, because this is what you eat traditional on this day.)
December- Christmas (I'd use a Christmas tree for Christmas, because it is tradition to have a Christmas tree up this time of year.)
