Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
“Doubtless,” said I, “what it utters is its only stock and store
Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster
Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore—
Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore
Of ‘Never—nevermore’.”

Unmerciful Disaster

The thunder rumbled and struck
the clouds hitting against each other
hail starting to cover the earth
it was windy,
it was cruel

an unmerciful disaster,
a hatred of mother Earth,
the pelting rain,
the heavy winds
almost as if something sinful
angry, and more
was coming down to earth.

An unmerciful disaster
something i wished was not where I was
for the wind swished
it pelted it flew into a rage
my house now standing afraid
to the unmerciful disaster.
