Here's an Eagle activity if there ever was one:
Your goal is to find as many references in Pop Culture (movies, songs, TV shows, books, etc), old-world superstitions, or idioms (aka: figures of speech) that refer to
the color blue, eagles, or muffins.I'd like to see how many references everyone is able to come up with.

After numerous readings to my son many years ago, I think I have "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" memorized for life.

Hmm, well known Italian Band named Eiffel 65 has a great theme song for us "I'm Blue."
Ah, the age-old nursery rhyme song, "Oh do you know the Muffin Man."
"Five foot two, eyes of blue..."
Just to name a few.....
*runs off to make some yummy cranberry orange muffins for everyone.*

Actually, the song title is just
Blue.
But that also reminds me of a group called "The Blue Man Group".
I also believe that there is another song called
Blue that LeAnn Rhimes made popular again in the '90's...which was a remake of a Patsy Cline song.
I'm quite fond of the statement "Once in a blue moon..."

Just to let everyone know, I am an extreme Disneyland fanatic, so I absolutely have to post this one. The Blue Bayou! It's a resturant the Pirates of the Caribbean goes through. Oh, and it looks like it's night--okay, I'll stop now.

This is the one that can make you dance..and perhaps tried so hard not to loose your shoes.
The song is 'Blue Suede Shoes' by non other than the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley
You've heard the man, he sang "Well you can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes."

I cannot BELIEVE no one has mentioned "The Eagles" yet. For those who don't know the band, they're the ones who wrote Hotel California.
And I think a Backstreet Boys album was called Black and Blue. If that counts.
There's a band in Canada called Blue Rodeo.
That's all I can think of right now...

I was flipping through th channels today and three things caught my attention...
Well only two, cause I was watching something on Comedy Central ><
1: A series called "Blue and Gray", where it takes upon a journal of some sort, from the Civil War and each date brings a new episode.
2: A a movie called "The Wings of Eagles". It was made on 1957 and John Wayne starred in it.
That's all for now!

The Superstition about Eagle stones. (well, they're also called pregnant stones) King Charles of France used to keep mineral stone charms with him. One of which being the eagle stone. According to some mythical legends, this stone emmited a wailing sound. Charles V carried a case of cypress-wood always about with him. In this case were two stones. One of them was called the "holy stone" and it aided women in childbirth. This was most likely an "eagle-stone." It was set in cold and was adorned with 4 pearls, 6 emeralds, and two balas-rubies. The other stone cured gout.
The superstitious noton of this stone still exists in some parts in the Orient and that the aetities would occasionally emit a wailing sound during the night. This is said to be either an expression of birth-pangs or the cry of its new born offspring.
The eagle stone goes by two other names: aetites and aquilaeus. Even though this magical stone is connected with childbirth and pregnancy, it gets it's name because of the eagle. This stone (which is mainly composed of iron oxide. It also has some flint and alumina. The stone is hollow with a loose nodule which rattles around inside) was said to be foun inside the stomach or neck of an eagle, or also in its nest. Also this stone has other magical properties. It has been said that this stone heals epilepsy and it also prevents a premature birth. When it was worn on the arm, it would prevent a miscarriege; also, when it was worn on the thigh, it would help aid in childbirth.
