Week Two - Task 05. - “Steadfast Searching”

Postby Katherine Laurier » Fri May 10, 2024 2:20 pm

The hunt continues.

This time, the group is searching the library and your class textbooks to see if it has any useful information. You need a lot of knowledge and awareness to get to the solution to your problem.

You look in the different sections of the big place until you find a book whose cover caught your attention. You feel like it might help you decipher what exactly is happening or what you have to do to reverse this.

You run your hands over the book, looking at the cover in awe before opening it up.

Task:
You found a book in the library that may lead to what you need to know. Create a book cover (600x600 px maximum) for the book that you found. Include the title of the book and its author and related decorations within the cover. This book you found may be a real book (canon in the Harry Potter books or movies or a book in real life) or simply made up by you.

Alternatively, write at least 125 words about the book. Describe the cover. What is it called? Who wrote it? What does it talk about? Include other information you may find relevant.

This task is worth 10 beans. You can earn an additional 10 bonus beans for completing all Week Two tasks by Friday, May 31st, at 11:59 PM (HOL time).

The book I found was called 'Runes and Relics' by VK Latinor. The cover consists of a border of small runic symbols with a huge runic symbol in the middle. The title is in the middle of the rune with the author's name right at the bottom. The book has different sections. One of the sections was in a different language, with translation, talking about different runes, their meanings, their uses and how to create complex rune spells and messages from the basic runes. Another section catalogued artifacts and relics that were of great importance to both the wizarding world and the muggle word. Another section explained magical potential stored in artifacts and relics and how to wield. One section explained how to use runes to activate a relic.

The book cover for "Mysteries of the Stars" has a deep, velvety black background. Scattered across are countless stars, some twinkling brightly while others form intricate, interconnected constellations. The stars are rendered in varying hues of white, blue, and gold.

Dominating the center of the cover is an elaborate illustration of an ancient astrolabe. The astrolabe image is crafted from a combination of burnished brass and silver, with finely detailed engravings of zodiac signs and celestial patterns.
Around the astrolabe, to complement the empty space of the background are wisps of cosmic dust and nebulae in shades of deep purple, azure blue, and silver.

At the top of the cover, the title "Mysteries of the Stars" is emblazoned in an elegant, serif font that glows with a subtle, golden sheen.

The author's name (Antonia Starrs) is placed at the bottom of the cover. It is framed by two intricate, silver filigree designs.
