Week Two - Task #06. “Let It Extend”

In the final stage of the practice, the focus expands outward as far as you are willing to let it go.

Rather than directing kindness toward a specific individual, you begin to extend it more broadly. To a group of people, a community, or even to all beings.

This can sound abstract, but it does not need to feel grand or overwhelming. The intention can remain a simple offering of goodwill, extended outward without the need for it to land anywhere specific.

At this stage, the phrasing may broaden to:
May all beings be safe.
May all beings live with ease.
May all beings be at peace.

Some Muggles describe this as creating a kind of field. Not something visible, but that shapes how they move through the world and how they relate to others within it. At this stage, the practice becomes less about who receives the kindness and more about the act of generating it.

Task:
For this task, create a Collage inspired by kindness extending outward beyond a single person. Whatever that means to you. Include a brief written explanation of your choices, or you may instead Describe your collage using 100 words or more to share the meaning behind the elements you chose to include. If you’d like, you may also incorporate any of the intentional phrases listed above, or something you come up with yourself, making sure any images posted directly to the forum are no greater than 600x600 pixels in size.

Alternatively, you may submit a Field Note below by writing 100 words or more for full credit. Choose a piece of media such as a book, film, television series, song, game, or other story-driven work that you feel portrays kindness, compassion, understanding, or connection in a meaningful way. Reflect on how those themes are explored within the work, and what moments, characters, or relationships stood out to you most.
