Despite being a bit of an introvert, I don't think I have ever felt genuinely lonely until the lockdowns began in recent years. I have always been very comfortable in my own company and worked from home, so the start of the lockdown did not feel very different to me at all. However, as time passed I think that it began to get to me more and more, and I started eating less healthily and not keeping on top of household chores. Over the past year, I have made a considerable effort to start doing more with my spare time - getting out and about and meeting new people. This has really helped me to overcome these feelings of loneliness, and I have enjoyed making new friends, trying new things, and being slightly more extroverted.
