Week One - Task #03. - “Chamber Door”

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
“Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I opened wide the door;—
Darkness there and nothing more.

Alternatively you may contribute an original Poem in 75 words or more titled “Chamber Door” or write a Research piece about the significance of fear. This might include elements such as the way fear manifests for different people, can be worked with or alleviated, interesting and unusual facts, or how it helps/hinders us, etc.

This task is worth 15 beans, with an additional 15 bonus beans for completing all Week One tasks by end of activity. Deadline is 11:59pm (HOL time) on Halloween, Monday October 31st.

Chamber Door

One, two, three, four
I walk up to the chamber door

I want to see what is inside
But I hesitate, filled with fright.

Pacing and waiting outside the door
I count - one, two, three, four.

Finally I can take no more
I open up the chamber door

As I count one, two, three
And pull... there's nothing I can see!

I take that as a warning as sure as a tack
I turn around and set tail back

And of course I will never more
Try to cross that chamber door.
