Week Three - Task #12. - “Lamp-Light”

Postby Prof. Sindor Aloyarc » Tue Oct 18, 2022 2:15 am

This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom’s core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the cushion’s velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o’er,
But whose velvet-violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o’er,
She shall press, ah, nevermore!

Lamp Light

The night was dark,
foreboding,
and sad.
I walked along the dirt road

my eyes so used to the darkness ahead
however the trees,
now obscured the moonlight,
erasing all trace of comfort that I held.

But what is that!
Ahead in the distance,
a small sliver of light shining on the path,
hastening towards it,
I find it to be a lamp.

a Lamp Light it was
shining it's light upon the pavement,
almost as if it was put there
for travelers like me.

Solution:
The flickering flame plays a treacherous game (full of shadows and wraiths in the dark), and my spirits grow damp as the light of the lamp seems to laugh on a whim and a lark.
