The voice of a woman sounds through the radio, “A small village in the town of Skystead has reportedly disappeared overnight, and along with it, all the people who lived in it.”

Your ears perk up while you finish up your work. It’s not every day a village disappears, especially not in Skyland, the quaint, peaceful town you live in.

“The village has seemingly been replaced by a big forest with trees covering the area the village used to reign. It was as if they were never there. Thorough investigations are being done by experts and we will update you on the matter as soon as we get more information. For now, the questions we have are why did this happen? How did it happen? Who or what made this happen? Where did they go? And what is this forest that sprouted overnight? Back to you, John.”

Your eyebrow raises. That has to be a special story for Halloween season or something, you shrug, the news too unbelievable. You continue with what you were doing, but feel the intrigue and spooks.

As expected, the following day, all of the townsfolk are in a frenzy, raising many questions and concerns about the alerting circumstance. Who wouldn’t anyway with a situation like this? All kinds of detectives and scientists dug into the case, though there seemed to be no logical or scientific explanation for this completely peculiar phenomenon.

As a concerned citizen, you blend in with the other complaining neighbors who surrounded the forest which replaced the vanished village, trying to get a closer look at what was happening. You squint your eyes. The answer must be in there somewhere. Right?

It is only a matter of time before people discovered the truth, and you feel an undeniable pull to be part of those people.
